Buying an inkjet printer can be a bit of a mine field these days, especially budget multifunction inkjet printers. The reason being is that these are the printers that the printer manufacturers use to sell as cheaply as possible in order to make their profit back on the sales of printer cartridges. The Epson SX200 falls firmly in this category however the Epson SX200 ink cartridges are slight different from its competitors because they consist of four separate Epson ink cartridges so each colour can be change independently of each other which basically means no ink gets wasted. The cartridges are reasonably affordable at £30 for a set, but the best value is to be found with compatibles which are half the price but still yield the same amount. Performance wise the Stylus SX200 is an impressive machine with a long list of features. The scanner and photo copier both perform well for a variety of tasks and the copier even has a PC-free function which is great for copying documents in a rush. The SX200 was built in memory card reader which enables printing directly from a memory which another one of its PC-free functions. Where the SX200 really shine is when its printing, the quality of printing is far beyond anything you get from other printers in the SX200’s price range. Not only can it print great quality text documents but the photos are of a quality equal to that from a photo lab provided you use the correct paper media. Overall The Stylus SX200 is a great addition to Epson’s range of inkjet printers.
